Description: Baker & Taylor Inc, the world's leading distributor of books and entertainment product is seeking a Marketing Manager. The primary responsibility of this position is guiding the execution of the strategic initiatives for J.A. Majors by acting as a liaison between sales, marketing, purchasing and publishers. The essential duties and responsibilities include:

- Aid in inventory selection by acting as a liaison between Buying and Sales to ensure the right product in the right quantities is in the right warehouse at the right time. Work with Sales and Buying to execute the BookList Express program.

- Facilitate the creation and funding of publisher promotions for the sales team, including internal communication with all related parties (sales, purchasing, accounting, IT)

- Disseminate new title information to increase sales. Receive new title information from publishers, monitor database for accuracy, select titles for publications and title lists, and communicate with sales important new title availability.

- Manage content for www.majors.com including promotions, announcements, title features, marketing materials. Work to improve the website's value to the customer.

- Manage marketing programs such as Marketing on Demand, Majors specials, publications, My Books and More

- Represent J.A. Majors corporate to the medical book industry by building relationships with vendors such as Connect 2 One, publishers, key customers, national accounts.

- Analyze sales numbers and promotions to develop better ways of execution.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree (Advertising or Marketing preferred) and minimum three years in the medical book industry. General marketing or sales experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to form and maintain strong business relationships at all levels throughout the industry. Attention to detail, ability to develop, understand and execute a strategic plan. Must be able to travel overnight 30% of the time..
